Ernst Ligthart

My name’s Ernst Ligthart and I’m a highly experienced lawyer in the area of corporate takeovers and shareholder disputes. I specialise in corporate and property law and in family business issues, acting for both buyers and sellers.

I also have extensive experience as a director and business owner. I advise the management board or board of directors of larger companies and have served as the chief executive officer of a large law firm. I also sit on the supervisory boards of Ajax, Legit Forum Groep and various start-ups. I’ve completed the Grotius Automation Law course and I’m a member of the Sports and Law specialist association.

Given my entrepreneurial nature, I wanted to practise in a smaller context again. My passion and pleasure lie in connecting with business owners, directors and major shareholders, and family businesses. I like short lines of communication and aim straight for the goal.

I have more than 90 successful acquisitions and partnerships to my name and was also ranked in the top 10 deal makers in the legal profession in 2016 and 2017. I’ve registered in the following practice areas in the Netherlands Bar Association’s register of legal practice areas:

• Law of obligations

Under this registration, I must obtain 10 training points in each registered principal practice area every calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.
