Marsja Wierenga

Lawyer & partner

I was sworn in as a lawyer in 2000 and after a solid foundation in general practice, I specialised in property law. I’ve completed the Grotius Property Law course cum laude and take follow-up courses every year, including through my membership of the Property Lawyers Association.

My clients come from the property sector and include investors, backers, developers, managers, landlords, tenants, construction companies, installers, estate agents, architects, building material wholesalers and owners’ associations. I also assist individuals with property-related matters such as rent, property purchases or neighbour disputes. And I regularly take action against authorities. I have a broad network of other specialists with whom I work closely.

As the account manager for several national organisations, I support and manage colleagues who conduct debt collection proceedings for these clients. As a result, I have significant litigation experience, including with attachments, and filing bankruptcy and winding-up petitions.

I’m curious, competitive, articulate and always looking to improve as an entrepreneur. As an experienced discussion and negotiation partner, I always keep my client’s goal in mind. I’m known for my personal commitment, know-how and producing creative solutions.

Besides my work as a lawyer, I’ve been a member of the disputes committee of a social housing association and I currently serve on the Supervisory Board of Tivoli Vredenburg and the Advisory Board of Unipartners.

I’ve registered in the following practice areas in the Netherlands Bar Association’s register of legal practice areas:

  • Civil procedure
  • Tenancy law

Under this registration, I must obtain 10 training points in each registered principal practice area every calendar year in accordance with the standards of the Netherlands Bar Association.
